Shovkovsky did not take Dynamo’s most expensive football player to the match with Maccabi due to his condition.

The head coach of Kyiv’s “Dynamo,” Oleksandr Shovkovskyi, announced that Vladyslav Vanat, playing as a forward, will not participate in the return leg of the Europa League qualification playoff against “Maccabi” from Tel Aviv. Midfielder Torres will also be unable to play in the game.

The reason for Vanat’s absence may be his transfer to the Spanish club “Girona.” According to journalist Carrusel Deportivo Nil Solà, an agreement between the parties is almost reached. The transfer fee will be about 15 million euros, and the contract with the 23-year-old player will be for five years. Kyiv’s “Dynamo” will receive a percentage from any potential future resale of the forward.

This season, Vanat has played 7 matches for “Dynamo,” scoring 3 goals and making 2 assists. The loss of such an important forward could significantly complicate the Kyiv club’s task of advancing to the group stage of the tournament, as the team lost to the Israeli opponent 1:3 in the first match.

Earlier, there was information that “Dynamo” president Ihor Surkis rejected “Girona’s” offer to sell Vladyslav Vanat, disagreeing with the terms of the deal.

The scheduled return match against “Maccabi” will take place on Thursday, August 28.
