The French Defense Minister has warned of a possible civil war in Lebanon.

The head of the French Ministry of Defense, Sebastien Lecornu, expressed fears about the possibility of civil war in Lebanon. He noted that the weakening of Hezbollah could provoke this conflict and called for a ceasefire to ensure collective security.

The minister expressed regret that security measures for UN peacekeepers are not always taken by the IDF, despite Hezbollah's apparent use of UN facilities for its own purposes. He recalled the recent attack on peacekeepers by the Israeli army.

In light of possible IDF tactical victories, Sebastien Lecornu stressed that this does not guarantee security for Israel in the long term. In addition, it is expected that the financing of the Lebanese army and the implementation of UN Security Council Resolution 1701 will be discussed at the international conference in Paris.
