The head of the teachers' union is preparing to start the school year with a strike if their demands are not met.

The head of the middle and high school teachers' association, Ran Erez, said that due to the teachers' strike on September 1, high school students will most likely not be able to return to school. After a round of negotiations with the finance and education ministries, the parties were dissatisfied with the partner's ambiguous position.

According to Ran Erez, the negotiating partner is not going to fulfill the commitment to increase high school teachers' salaries from September 23. The lack of budget funds and the refusal of the Finance Minister have been confirmed, which is causing dissatisfaction on both sides. “The Israeli government has no money for high school students and teachers,” Erez emphasized.

The final deadline for the parties to inform the court of the progress of the labor dispute negotiations was set for August 15. The lack of agreement and funds from the state creates serious problems for high school students and teachers.
