The IDF will create a special unit for rapid response

Brigadier General Yair Pelai announced the creation of a new Pereh unit within the IDF's HaBashan Division to improve operational effectiveness in the Golan Heights. The new unit includes reservists from commandos and special forces who are familiar with the region and are able to quickly respond to threats.

The newly formed unit is equipped with flexible and powerful forces to quickly respond to changing situations. The creation of Pereh was a response to the need to strengthen security in the Golan Heights, identified during the fight against terrorists. General Pelai expressed pride in the commanders and leaders who have brought the unit to the forefront.

This move is intended to provide an additional level of protection to the residents of the Golan Heights and strengthen the security of the region. Earlier, Foreign Minister Eli Cohen and former Defense Minister Avigdor Lieberman confirmed the significance of the decision to create missile forces within the IDF, initiated back in 2018.
