The UAE is holding confidential talks with Israel and the United States regarding the future of the Gaza Strip following the completion of the Israeli military operation against the Hamas terrorist group.
According to Reuters, proposals for the creation of an interim administration in Gaza under international control, including the participation of the United States and the UAE, are being discussed at the talks. This administration could manage the sector until a reformed Palestinian Authority can establish its own power structures.
Gaza is now partly controlled by the Israeli military and partly still under the control of Hamas, which has ruled the area since 2007, winning elections and crushing the opposition, including the Palestinian Authority.
