The new equipment supplied included: ammunition for HIMARS missile systems, 155mm and 105mm artillery ammunition, Javelin anti-tank systems and Swedish AT-4 ATGMs, tube-launched, optically guided and wire-tracked TOW missiles, and fragmentation grenades.
According to information announced on the website of the US State Department, US President Joe Biden announced urgent deliveries of military aid to Ukraine, estimated at $1.25 billion. This additional assistance will be transferred to Kyiv from the reserves of the Ministry of Defense.
As part of US military assistance, Ukraine will be provided with ammunition for various systems, including counter-unmanned aerial vehicle systems, air defense systems, as well as ammunition for HIMARS missile systems and artillery ammunition. The equipment supplied will also include Javelin anti-tank systems and Swedish AT-4 anti-tank systems.
President Biden has directed his administration to provide the fullest military assistance to Ukraine for the remainder of his tenure, which includes removing old U.S. equipment from Pentagon arsenals and quickly delivering them to the Ukrainian battlefield. The US also plans to modernize its defense industrial base after this.
According to information on the White House website, the total cost of military aid supplies to Ukraine will be about $2.5 billion. Biden stressed that the priority is to provide Ukraine with the necessary means to defend itself against aggression, especially from Russia.
