The UN Security Council will hold an emergency meeting to discuss the situation in Lebanon following the IDF's intensification of military action against Hezbollah. France initiated the discussion, having received the support of the UN Secretary-General. Israel will be represented by UN Ambassador Danny Danon.
Paris has been making efforts in recent months to prevent a conflict between Israel and Hezbollah, but has not achieved the desired result.
Lebanon's Foreign Minister condemned Israel's actions, calling them a violation of international law. Lebanon called on the Security Council to condemn Israel's attacks and implement Resolution 1701. Israel's permanent representative to the UN said Israel does not seek large-scale military action in the region.
