The United States is set to step up talks on a deal between Israel and the Hamas terrorist organization. According to The Washington Post, if this attempt fails, the talks will be terminated. US diplomats are discussing the issue with representatives of Qatar and Egypt, who are mediating in the talks.

Washington believes that after the incident with six hostages in Gaza, the need to conclude a deal is increasing. The Americans are convinced that the tragedy will not affect the position of Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar, but protests and strikes in Israel may force Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to accept the terrorists' conditions.
