US President Joe Biden has announced the American government's readiness to support Israel's defense against Islamic terrorist movements in the Middle East.
During talks with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at the White House, Biden reaffirmed his commitment to ensuring Israel's security from threats posed by Iran, including its support for Hamas, Hezbollah and the Houthis.
The president also discussed measures to bolster Israel's defense against threats including ballistic missiles and drones, as well as new U.S. military deployments.
Biden stressed the importance of efforts to de-escalate tensions in the region, joining the call along with Vice President and presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris.
