On October 11, 2024, the UN human rights board said that more than 100 medical and emergency workers have died in Lebanon since the conflict between Israel and Hezbollah began a year ago. The conflict began when the Iran-backed group supported Hamas at the start of the Gaza war. The situation escalated when Israel began bombing parts of Beirut, Reuters reports.
