Iranian air passengers can no longer carry pagers and walkie-talkies on board planes following a series of explosions in Lebanon and Syria last month. This information was reported by a representative of the Iranian aviation department in an interview with the ISNA news agency on Saturday, October 12. Along with this, passengers are allowed to take mobile phones with them.

Pagers, walkie-talkies and similar accessories are no longer allowed on board in either carry-on or checked luggage. However, passengers can continue to take mobile phones with them. The same information was confirmed by Emirates airline, setting the same restrictions on all flights departing from or flying through Dubai.

In Lebanon, Hezbollah communications bombings killed at least 37 people, including several children, and injured about three thousand people. Hezbollah and the Lebanese authorities blamed Israel for this, although the latter's authorities did not officially comment on the incident. According to CNN, the explosions are the result of a joint operation between the Mossad intelligence service and the Israeli military.
