Israel has begun preparations to deploy the Arrow 3 missile defense system in Germany in 2025. The Israeli Ministry of Defense announced this on Sunday, November 10. Representatives of the defense departments of Israel and Germany held a meeting at the Israeli concern Israel Aerospace Industries. The defense ministries of both countries are jointly preparing to deploy the Arrow 3 system on German territory.

Israel agreed to sell the Arrow 3 system to Germany for $3.5 billion with US approval last year, marking the largest defense deal for an Israeli manufacturer. Arrow 3 is an advanced technology for intercepting ballistic missiles outside the atmosphere, first used during the Hamas invasion in October. This system will be part of the European Sky Shield initiative led by Germany.

Some 19 countries have joined the long-term project to create a structure to intercept different types of missiles at different altitudes. The development of the Arrow 3 system is an important step in this initiative.
