The Israeli campaign to support Ukrainian cities in less than three weeks has approached a new psychological mark.
Funds were raised for heat and electricity where infrastructure strikes coincided with extreme frosts.
The result is almost double the initial plan.

How the collection grew and where the funds are directed
The initiative was launched by the Embassy of Ukraine in the State of Israel and volunteers of the movement “Israeli Friends of Ukraine“. The reason was new attacks by the Russian Federation on energy and reports of temperatures down to minus twenty.
The initial goal seemed more modest — 100 thousand shekels.
But in 19 days (as of February 11, 2026) the amount almost doubled and approached 200 thousand.
Current distribution
For Kyiv, 100,275 shekels were collected.
For Odesa and Kherson — 83,860 shekels.
Part of the funds is already not on paper, but in action. 108,000 shekels have been transferred to Ukraine, and equipment has been purchased with them.
When such reports appear, they become a guide not only for donors but also for other public structures. That is why in publications regularly prepared by NANews — Israel News | Nikk.Agency, such initiatives are considered as an example of how civic solidarity turns into practical results.
What has been achieved so far
Assistance to the “Happy Childhood” center
A separate item was the support of a Kyiv institution where orphans and children with disabilities are located.
After missile strikes, the center was left without heating. The wards had to be temporarily moved to an overcrowded room.
Thanks to the collected funds, inverters were delivered and installed there, which allowed the heating system to be launched, including in the bomb shelter.
This means a simple thing — children have warmth and a basic sense of security again.
Purchases within the campaign
With the transferred money, the following have already been purchased:
three powerful generators,
large capacity battery packs.
The equipment is directed to public spaces working with the most vulnerable groups of the population. Where outages can last for hours and days.
Why the collection continues
Organizers emphasize: the needs significantly exceed current capabilities. Infrastructure damage is systemic, winter is not over yet.
Therefore, the campaign is not closed.
The diplomatic mission separately noted that the level of response exceeded expectations. In a few weeks, people managed to almost double the initial target.
Now it’s about the next milestone.
And as funds come in, they are quickly turned into generators, batteries, inverters — into real devices that provide light and heat in the dark.
The Israeli street once again shows: even being thousands of kilometers away, you can influence the situation very specifically.
