On Thursday, September 26, the General Security Service (Shabaq) and the Israel Police announced a successful joint operation to prevent a major terrorist attack. The main figure in planning the attack was a 23-year-old resident of an Arab village, who was planning to carry out an explosive act on the graves of the righteous in Galilee, involving two underage accomplices in this.
The plan was to plant an explosive device at a pilgrimage site and detonate it when the people there were most vulnerable. Then, when paramedics arrived, the terrorists planned to open fire on them. Turning to Palestinian illegals to make the device was also part of the preparation for the attack.
As a result of the search, radio stations, combat uniforms and agricultural fertilizers that could have been used to make bombs were confiscated. The terrorist attack was prevented at an early stage of preparation. It also became known that the suspect had previously participated in attacks on passing cars, throwing Molotov cocktails.
