The Knesset Disciplinary Commission decided to impose sanctions against Arab Hadash MP Ophir Kasif, who joined South Africa's lawsuit against the State of Israel in an international court. Kasif was fined and suspended for a month for his actions, which were considered destabilizing the situation in the country.

Representatives of the Hadash party expressed dissatisfaction with the commission's decision, calling it politically motivated and aimed at suppressing freedom of expression. They accused the commission of trying to hush up debate about Israel's policy towards the Palestinians, as well as limiting the MP's right to express his position.

However, the commission's decision was supported by a majority of Knesset members, indicating widespread support for sanctions against Ophir Kasif. Deputies from the right-wing coalition emphasized that there should be no place in politics for actions that undermine the interests of the state.
