The commander of the Quds Force of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), Ismail Qaani, and the head of his office are suspected of working for the Israeli intelligence service Mossad.
According to Sky News Arabic, the general was detained by Iranian security forces and interrogated on charges of treason. It is alleged that immediately after his arrest, Qaani suffered a heart attack, after which he was transported to a hospital in Tehran.
Earlier, Middle East Eye reported that Qaani is suspected of involvement in the destruction of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran. A few days ago, media reports appeared that Qaani had been eliminated as a result of an Israeli military operation in Lebanon. However, it later turned out that he was “alive and well.”
