Joe Biden said Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah and the organization he led were responsible for the deaths of many Americans over the past 40 years.

The US President believes that the elimination of Nasrallah is an act of justice, given his criminal acts, which claimed the lives of thousands of people including Americans, Israelis and Lebanese. According to Biden's statement, Hezbollah has been involved in the killing of hundreds of Americans over a long period of time. The strike against Nasrallah was carried out in the context of the conflict that began with the Hamas attack on October 7, 2023. On September 28, the Israel Defense Forces officially confirmed the liquidation of Nasrallah.

The President instructed the Pentagon to strengthen the defense capabilities of the armed forces in the Middle East to prevent the possibility of a large-scale war in the region. In his statement, Biden stressed that the goal is a diplomatic resolution to the conflicts in Gaza and Lebanon. The United States supports the peace agreement and the release of hostages in Gaza, and is also negotiating the safe return of people to Israel and Lebanon.

The American leader noted that Nasrallah, after the Hamas attack, decided to unite with Hamas and began to act against Israel, which served as a catalyst for its liquidation. Biden stressed the need to prevent future acts of terrorism by Iran-backed groups and called for improved security in the Middle East.
