From September 15, 2025, additional security measures will be introduced in Uman. These algorithms are developed similarly to previous years when Bratslav Hasidim arrived in the city. The introduction of a special regime concerns both entry and exit, as well as the movement of citizens.
Prohibitions and Restrictions
The head of the regional military administration announced the locations on the roads where entry will be restricted. Points with enhanced checkpoint control have also been determined.
In the pilgrimage zone, restrictions have been introduced on the carrying, transportation, and sale of alcoholic beverages, as well as the use of pyrotechnics. The sale of knives, sharp objects, and pneumatic weapons, including toys that imitate them, is prohibited.
The Significance of the Holiday
Every autumn, Hasidim from all over the world gather in Uman to celebrate Rosh Hashanah at the grave of Tzadik Nachman. In 2025, the celebration will take place from September 22 to 24, which is expected to attract many pilgrims.
According to the estimates of the Ukrainian ambassador to Israel, up to 40,000 Hasidim will come to Uman this year. Authorities are appealing to them to observe safety measures, reminding them that safety remains a priority for all event participants.
Expectations and Readiness
It is expected that preparations for the holiday will take into account possible threats, making it important to plan trips in advance. The police and other security forces will strengthen order in the city to ensure comfortable conditions for pilgrims.
