On October 3, 2024, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baghaei called the G7 statement condemning the attack on Israel “biased and irresponsible.” Iran fired more than 180 missiles at Israel on October 1 in response to the killings of Hezbollah leaders and aggression in Gaza and Lebanon, Reuters reported.

G7 leaders expressed “strong concern” about the crisis in the Middle East and condemned Tehran's attack. They noted that a diplomatic resolution to the conflict is still possible and a regional conflict is not in the interests of anyone.
