Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has approved sending a new Israeli delegation to Qatar to negotiate the release of the hostages. The delegation will consist of specialists from various Israeli security services. In recent days, forecasts for negotiations have been pessimistic due to Hamas' refusal to provide a list of names of hostages.
The Israeli delegation will leave for Qatar on January 3, 2025. The Forum of Hostages' Families welcomed the news as a chance for the hostages' release. The organization is demanding that the prime minister give the negotiating team a mandate to reach an agreement on the return of every last hostage: alive for rehabilitation and those killed for an honorable burial.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will evaluate the negotiations for the release of hostages based on the results of the first negotiations. Hamas is seeking to reach an agreement on hostages before Trump's inauguration. Amendments were made at the Doha talks, including the release of Israeli military personnel, the elderly and the sick.
