Israel threatens a harsh response in connection with the recognition of Palestine, while some government officials advocate for the annexation of parts of the occupied West Bank.
Netanyahu’s Statement
On the eve of his speech at the UN General Assembly, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu held a government meeting during which he announced his intention to respond to calls to create Palestine in the coming days.
Netanyahu emphasized the need to “fight” this situation, noting that such a step “threatens the existence” of Israel.
He also noted that at the UN General Assembly, he will present “Israel’s truth,” specifying that this is also the objective truth of the struggle against “forces of evil” and a vision of a world based on strength.
In addition, the necessity to counter “false propaganda” and “calls for the creation of a Palestinian state,” which, in his opinion, threaten Israel’s existence, was expressed by the Prime Minister. He believes that countries recognizing the Palestinian state at the General Assembly thereby encourage acts of terror by Hamas.
Discussion with Trump
“The international community will understand our position in the coming days,” Netanyahu continued.
He announced an upcoming meeting with US President Donald Trump after the UN General Assembly.
“This will be my fourth meeting with him since the start of his second term – more than with any other world leader. We have much to discuss,” he added.
World Reaction
The United Kingdom, Canada, and Australia officially recognized the state of Palestine on September 21, 2025. The prime ministers of these countries made statements emphasizing their commitment to peace and resolving the conflict through the creation of two states.
