Kremlin media have created a new myth that Ukrainian air defense specialists are working in Gulf countries

Russia is trying to discredit Ukraine’s international cooperation in the defense sector with various countries, so it has invented a new fake about Ukrainian military personnel in the Middle East.

Kremlin propaganda has once again intensified, this time targeting Ukrainian air defense specialists working in the Middle East. This is reported in the account of the Center for Countering Disinformation at the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine. According to the CCD, Russian propagandists, citing an Italian media outlet, are spreading false information that Arab countries allegedly refused the assistance of Ukrainian military personnel in defending against Iranian air attacks due to their “professional incompetence.” Propagandists claim that Ukrainian air defense fighters failed to protect any of the five objects they were guarding.

However, the CCD statement emphasizes that all these claims are fake. The Italian media material does not contain a single reference to an official source, which already raises doubts. Moreover, there are no Ukrainian missile systems and anti-aircraft missiles in the Persian Gulf countries, making it physically impossible to “hit skyscrapers.” Also, no specific objects are assigned to Ukrainian military personnel in the Middle East.

The CCD believes that by spreading such fakes, Kremlin propaganda seeks to discredit Ukraine’s international cooperation in the defense sector. Russia is trying by all means to hinder the work of Ukrainian military specialists in the Middle East.

Recall that in March of this year, it became known that Ukrainian military personnel arrived in Middle Eastern countries to help repel Iranian air attacks. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky confirmed that Ukrainian specialists shot down Iranian Shahed strike drones during a military operation by the US and Israel against Iran.

The publication Dialog.UA previously reported that Ukraine agreed on oil supplies from Persian Gulf countries in exchange for assistance in combating Iranian drones. It is important to note that such events highlight Ukraine’s growing international cooperation in the field of security, which is of significant importance for Israel and the region as a whole.
