The chairman of the largest opposition faction Yesh Atid, Yair Lapid, held a meeting with Prime Minister Netanyahu on defense issues. According to the law, the prime minister must inform the opposition leader about the current defense situation. The meeting took place at the General Staff base in Tel Aviv and its details were not disclosed.

After discussing the affairs at the Kiriya, Lapid headed to the square in front of the Museum of Art, where activists are demanding an end to the fighting. There he spoke of the need for a treaty that would bring children home and ensure security in the north and south. The statement drew mixed reactions.

Many commentators questioned the feasibility of Lapid's idea, considering it a capitulation. The peace and security proposal is unlikely to be possible without the constant threat of previous decisions by Prime Ministers Barak and Sharon. Social media users expressed their dissatisfaction with this approach.
