Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian announced a full-scale economic war that is now going on against his country. He stressed the importance of countering enemies to prevent creating economic problems for the Islamic Republic. Pezeshkian noted that today the war is on the economic front, pointing out the importance of defense: “We have missiles for self-defense.”
The Iranian president expressed support for the Palestinians for “their resistance to Israeli actions” and condemned Israel for “violence and violation of international law.” He also stressed that missiles produced in Iran are “necessary to prevent conflicts like the one in Gaza, so that the Israeli government cannot strike at will.”
A week ago, a spokeswoman for the Iranian government announced a 200% increase in the defense budget in response to “Israeli aggression.” Iran's military budget this year is $16.4 billion, nearly three times more than a year earlier, according to the Stockholm Peace Research Institute.
