In New York on June 15, 25 pro-Palestinian activists from the Jewish Voice for Peace organization were detained by police for blocking the road to the motorcade of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Actress and activist Rowan Blanchard was among those detained. The protesters condemned Netanyahu's actions in Lebanon and Gaza, saying: “We, Jewish New Yorkers, strongly condemn Netanyahu's attack on Lebanon and the genocide of Palestinians in Gaza.”

The radical leftist movement Jewish Voice for Peace accuses Israel of apartheid, supports Palestinian organizations and advocates a boycott of Israel and the “eradication of Zionism.” The activists' actions caused a scandal and attracted public attention to protests against Israel's policies in the Middle East.

This just became known – on June 15, the New York police stopped a protest by 25 members of the Jewish Voice for Peace organization, preventing them from blocking the path of Netanyahu’s motorcade and accusing them of disturbing public order.
