On April 13, 2025, on the day of the Christian Palm Sunday, the Russian army launched one of the most brutal attacks on the civilians of Ukraine.
Ballist missiles with cluster munitions struck Sumy, resulting in 32 deaths, including 2 children, and over 80 people were injured, 10 of whom were children (as of 14:10, April 13, 2025).
This strike is a clear example of how putin’s Russia consciously directs its aggression against the civilian population of Ukraine, sparing neither the elderly nor children.
How did this happen?
April 13, on the day of the Orthodox holiday Palm Sunday, when thousands of Ukrainians were heading to church, Russia launched a missile strike on an ordinary city street in Sumy. “A terrible morning in Sumy — as a result of the Russian shelling, more than 20 dead, dozens injured, including children. My condolences to the families of the deceased, wishing recovery to the injured.”
