Russia has convinced Iran to hand over ballistic missiles despite Tehran's hesitations, and the lengthy negotiations have been going on for two years.

Iran's decision to transfer Fath-360 missiles to Russia is probably not related to imports of goods from Russia. This was stated by political strategist Mikhail Sheitelman in an interview with Channel 24. He discussed the strategic reasons for the supply of Iranian missiles to Russia.

According to Sheitelman, Iran decided to transfer ballistic missiles to Russia suddenly, although such talks had been going on for the past two years. In the fall of 2022, the first report on this topic appeared in the American media. Considering that the Iranians could not make a decision on the transfer of missiles for two years, the emergence of this possibility gives rise to thought.

The fact that the missiles were transferred to Russia is connected to the emergence of new weapons in Iran. Russia probably gave Iran something in exchange for ballistic missiles. As a result of this exchange, an agreement on the transfer of counterintelligence weapons may have been signed.

The establishment of close relations between Iran and Russia has led to the imposition of new sanctions on Tehran. As for the military implications, the Fath-360 ballistic missiles could threaten Ukrainian defense forces on the front line and settlements near the border with Russia at a distance of 100 kilometers.
