Mosaic United, together with the Ministry of Diaspora Affairs and the Fight against Anti-Semitism, continues the tradition of supporting Jewish children and teenagers from Ukraine and those who were forced to leave their country because of the war.
This year marks the third year in a row that summer camps and recreation days have been held for over 3,000 Jewish refugees and residents of Ukraine. This event has become an important element of aid and support for Jewish communities, giving people the opportunity to temporarily escape the realities of war and strengthen their connection to the Jewish world.
According to data published Maarivthe camp will be held in various locations around the world, including Europe, the United States, and Canada, where organizers aim to create a safe and supportive environment for all participants. Meir Holtz, CEO of Mosaic United, emphasized the importance of the initiative, noting that it provides Ukrainian Jews with “meaningful and supportive summer experiences that connect them to the Jewish world.”
These camps are aimed at a wide range of participants, including children, teenagers, young people aged 18 to 25, and their parents. At the camp, they will receive the necessary emotional and psychological support, take part in various unifying events, master classes and trainings aimed at strengthening their psychological resilience.
The project has a budget of $2.1 million, which will cover more than 80 camps. The camps will be held in countries such as Ukraine, Hungary, Latvia, Romania, Poland, Spain and the United States, where 17 vendors have been selected to implement the program. These camps, as noted by Mosaic United, have become an important part of the life of the Jewish community in Ukraine, providing people with much-needed respite and an opportunity to recharge.
Feedback from participants and their families attests to the importance of these events, showing how much they need such days of rest and unity. The organizers note that the positive emotions and strong reactions of the participants confirm the importance and relevance of these camps, which help people cope with difficulties and restore morale.
These camps are of great importance for both Israel and Ukraine. For Israel, this is an opportunity to strengthen ties with Jewish communities around the world, to demonstrate support and solidarity with Jews who suffered from the war. For Ukraine, this is an important element of support for the Jewish community, which, despite difficult circumstances, maintains a connection with its roots and world Jewry.
Mosaic United is an Israeli organization that works to strengthen the bond between Jews in Israel and the Diaspora. It plays a key role in organizing such events aimed at supporting Jewish communities around the world, especially in difficult times.
