The Wall Street Journal previously reported that Turkey was increasing its military presence along the border with Syria, which could indicate preparations for a large-scale invasion of territory controlled by Syrian Kurds and supported by America. This intensification began after the overthrow of the Bashar al-Assad regime and is reminiscent of the preparations for the previous invasion in 2019.
