Denis Kapustin, also known by the surname Nikitin, was born in 1984 in Moscow. In 2001, his family, belonging to Russian Jews, emigrated to Cologne. This move marked the starting point of a biography that later attracted the attention of special services, journalists, and courts in several countries.

In Germany, Kapustin quickly came under the authorities’ radar.
The Ministry of the Interior of the state of North Rhine-Westphalia characterized him as one of the most influential neo-Nazi activists in the country. He built an environment around the fighting subculture, sports, and street identity, leading the brand White Rex, through which symbols associated with far-right slogans were spread.

The activity extended beyond Germany.
In Switzerland, according to law enforcement agencies, Kapustin was involved in organizing combat training for supporters of the far-right party PNOS. This activity increased international attention to his figure.

Kapustin himself denied the neo-Nazi label.
In comments to the agency Reuters, he called himself a nationalist advocating for Russia as a state of ethnic Russians. He was associated with Maxim Martsinkevich, one of the most famous Russian ultra-nationalists of the 2000s-2010s.

The Ukrainian stage began in 2017.
After moving to Ukraine, Kapustin continued to develop sports and near-sports projects and publicly supported the Revolution of Dignity. After the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion in 2022, he initiated the creation of the Russian Volunteer Corps — a formation of Russian citizens who declared their goal of armed struggle against the Kremlin regime on Ukraine’s side.

The RVC quickly came into focus.
In 2023, together with the Legion “Freedom of Russia”, the group began a series of armed raids on Russian territory. The most publicized operations were in the Belgorod and Kursk regions, as well as a raid in Shebekino in the summer of 2023.

Kapustin claimed to be actively working with Russian prisoners of war.
According to him, some of them joined the RVC voluntarily, and some fighters even received awards from the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine. These statements caused mixed reactions both within Ukraine and beyond.

In Russia, his activities were classified as terrorism.
On November 16, 2023, a Russian court sentenced Kapustin in absentia to life imprisonment. The trial was held in a closed session, and the charges included state treason, preparation of a terrorist act, and creation of a terrorist community.

Kapustin himself continues to make public statements.
He speaks of a growing crisis in Russia and claims that raids on border regions overload the Russian security system, bringing closer the moment when, in his words, “the colossus will break its clay feet.”

The story of Denis Kapustin is an example of how one person’s biography intersects with themes of radicalism, war, migration, and propaganda, becoming part of a broader political reality closely watched by NAnews — News of Israel | Nikk.Agency.
