Israel Defense Forces spokesman Daniel Hagari presented a drone video showing the moments of the discovery and liquidation of the head of the Hamas Politburo, Yahya Sinwar. The footage shows him trying to hide from the Israeli military in a destroyed building, defending himself from a drone.
During the operation, Sinwar was found with a weapon, body armor and cash. Khagari confirmed that he was considered a terrorist, but no hostages were found near him. Sinwar's DNA was also found in a tunnel near where the bodies of the Israeli hostages were found.
After the successful elimination of Hamas, Hagari announced the army's goals – to destroy the military capabilities of the terrorists and return the hostages. Information about Sinvar's whereabouts was accidental, the soldiers noticed his presence, and the tank crews attacked the building without prior reconnaissance.
