The Israeli army reported the capture of a Hezbollah member during a naval special operation.

Israeli forces captured Hezbollah official Imad Amhaz during an operation in northern Lebanon. Amkhaz is considered an important source of knowledge within the terrorist group. He was taken to Israel for interrogation. The raid took place on the night of November 2, the fighters landed on the coast of Batroun and escaped on a boat. Amhaz was the ship's “civilian captain” and Lebanese officials plan to file a complaint with the UN.

Hezbollah refuses to comment on allegations of Amhaz's ties to the group. It was Israel's first raid in northern Lebanon, which is far from the Israeli border.

“The Israel Defense Forces will operate where necessary to protect the state and its citizens,” the Israeli military said. The operation was assessed as successful and important for the security of the country.
