The Palestinian Football Association has filed a complaint with FIFA against Israeli fans.

The Palestinian Football Association sent a letter to the FIFA president expressing “concern over the incident of racism and violence in the Israeli football league.” The letter cited the “systemic problem of anti-Palestinian and Islamophobic racism” that the Israel Football Association “ignores.”

The incident in Beersheba caused serious concern, but the reason for the unrest was not clearly indicated.

Hapoel fans stormed the pitch with clubs, attacking members of the “Palestinian minority” in Israel. They chanted slogans “against the Prophet Mohammed” and insisted on the ethnic cleansing of Palestinians.

A mass brawl in Be'er Sheva began because of the disrespectful attitude of Bnei Sakhnin fans to the Israeli anthem. Hapoel fans punished them by attacking them with sticks. The incident became the reason for the investigation of the Israel Football Federation and possible sanctions against the Bnei Sakhnin team.
