US Defense Department spokesman Maj. Gen. Pet Ryder said the US military did not take part in the Israeli military's operation to eliminate Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar, although US intelligence provided information on the whereabouts of the terrorist organization's leaders.
The United States helped with information about the hostages and tracking the Hamas leaders responsible for holding them. US actions contribute to the overall understanding of the situation.
Meanwhile, components of the American THAAD battery to support Israel's air defense system began to arrive in the country. Pet Ryder emphasized that these weapons will be fully ready for use in the near future. It was integrated into Israeli air defense and into broader U.S. efforts to support Israel's defense.
“This was an Israeli operation that did not involve American forces,” Ryder said. “The United States has provided information related to the release of the hostages and tracking of the Hamas leaders responsible for holding them. This helps to understand the situation.”
