The United States, Egypt and Qatar have called on Israel and Hamas to hold talks on August 15 to reach an agreement on a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and the release of hostages.

The talks could take place in either Doha or Cairo. The proposed “final interim proposal” would address the remaining issues. Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu said Israeli representatives would attend the talks to finalize the details of the agreement. Hamas has not yet responded to the proposal.
