NAnews – Israel News publishes the official statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, issued on June 22, 2025, following massive U.S. airstrikes on key Iranian nuclear facilities. Ukraine expressed full support for the actions of the United States and Israel, emphasizing that Iran’s nuclear program is a global threat, not merely a regional issue.

In the context of ongoing Russian aggression, Ukraine clearly stated: Iran is not only a sponsor of terrorism but also a direct accomplice in crimes against Ukrainians. This is evidenced by Iranian drones used by Russia to kill civilians and destroy critical infrastructure. This statement is also important for Israel, as Ukrainian diplomacy once again affirms: Ukraine and Israel stand on the same side of history.

“Ukraine is convinced that Iran’s nuclear program must be stopped so that it can never again threaten either Middle Eastern countries or any other states.

Peaceful efforts to prevent nuclear proliferation in Iran have been ongoing for years but yielded no tangible results. As early as spring, the U.S. warned Iran of the consequences should there be no constructive steps.

We state that it is precisely the aggressiveness of the Iranian regime’s actions and its long-term destructive policy aimed at undermining international peace and security — including hostile behavior toward Israel and many other nations — that led to the current developments.

Iran is complicit in the crime of aggression against Ukraine. The Iranian regime provides military assistance to Russia, particularly by supplying drones and technologies that Russia systematically uses to kill people and destroy critical infrastructure.

We have repeatedly drawn the international community’s attention to the fact that Iran’s actions are a blatant violation of UN Security Council Resolution 2231 (2015), specifically paragraph 4 of Annex B to that document, and therefore require an appropriate response.

At the same time, Iran continues to destabilize the security situation in the Middle East through its proxies, creating more and more threats to peace and stability in the region.

We believe that the measures taken by the U.S. together with Israel against Iranian nuclear sites have sent a clear message to the Iranian regime about the inadmissibility of continuing its policy aimed at destabilizing the region.

Ukraine, which made the largest contribution to nuclear disarmament in human history, understands better than anyone the threat posed by weapons of mass destruction. Ukraine has the moral right to assert that the elimination of Iran’s nuclear program will make the Middle East and the entire world safer.

As for Iran’s future, we believe that the Iranian people — who have a glorious multi-millennia-long history — deserve a dignified, free, and happy life in peace and mutual understanding with Israel and all other peoples of the world, not the rule of a regime oriented toward war, terror, lies, and perpetual confrontation.

We once again call on Iran’s leadership to stop supporting Moscow in its aggressive war against Ukraine.

We are convinced that it is precisely a resolute policy of “peace through strength,” which is already depriving the Iranian regime of its tools of terror and regional destabilization, that can strengthen international peace and security not only in the Middle East but also in Europe.

Ending Russian aggression against Ukraine also requires determination, leadership, and increased pressure on those who are not demonstrating constructive approaches to achieving peace. This refers primarily to sanctions targeting Russia’s oil revenues and military budget, pressure on Russia, and the strengthening of Ukraine’s defense capabilities.

We also note that the situation in the Middle East remains extremely unstable. We join the international community in calling on all parties to de-escalate tensions in the region and prioritize diplomatic solutions at the negotiating table.”

Ukraine has become one of the first countries to officially support the strikes on Iran’s nuclear infrastructure. This is not just a diplomatic stance but a clear message: Ukraine seeks peace through strength and fully understands the magnitude of the threat posed by the Tehran regime.

This statement strengthens the strategic partnership between Ukraine and Israel. For Israelis of Ukrainian descent, it is further proof that both nations stand united against common enemies — those who bring war, terror, and destruction.
