The US, Israel and Egypt are in talks over a mechanism to monitor the Philadelphia Corridor on the border between Gaza and Egypt, the Financial Times reported, citing sources. The plans include building an underground high-tech barrier, deploying additional sensors to monitor tunnel construction, and stationing Egyptian troops on the border with Gaza. The US is likely to finance the potential project, the sources said.

Israeli Strategic Affairs Minister Ron Dermer told Bloomberg that the Israeli side is ready for talks regarding control over the Philadelphia Corridor, but only after the end of the war with the Hamas group, recognized as a terrorist group by the United States and the European Union. The minister also noted the need to maintain Israel's military presence in the region to prevent Hamas from rearming.
