WHO plans to evacuate 1,000 women and children from Gaza.

Up to a thousand women and children in need of medical care are planned to be evacuated from the Gaza Strip soon.

This was stated by the Director of the World Health Organization (WHO) for Europe in an interview with AFP. Israel is committed to carrying out about 1,000 additional medical evacuations in the coming months, according to the WHO.

The rescue operation will be organized in collaboration with the WHO Regional Office for Europe and EU Member States.

Since the start of the war between Israel and Hamas in October 2023, WHO has already helped transport some 600 women and children to seven European countries.

“This would never have happened if we had not maintained dialogue. I maintain a dialogue with all partners,” said Hans Kluge.
