An Iranian military delegation led by General Ali Shademani has arrived in Moscow. Iranian military personnel will take part in the opening ceremony of the International Military-Technical Forum “Army-2024”, which will be held from August 12 to 14, 2024.
To the agency IRNABrigadier General Ali Shadmani, deputy head of the Khatam al-Anbiya coordination headquarters, said Iran was preparing a response “to the assassination of Hamas political bureau chief Ismail Haniyeh by Israel.”
The general paid special attention to Iran's response to the liquidation of high-ranking terrorists in Beirut and Tehran. He stressed that Iran “will strike a heavy blow as soon as all the parameters of this operation are agreed upon.”
In his interview with the agency, the general stressed that the “Zionist criminal regime,” as he called Israel, had repeatedly crossed “red lines” and “violated international law and human rights.” Shadmani added that this time Israel had committed an “unforgivable act” by killing Haniyeh, who was a guest of Iran, and that Tehran was preparing “brutal retaliation” for this act.
General Shadmani visited Moscow to attend the ARMY 2024 exhibition, where strategic relations between Iran and Russia and ways to enhance military cooperation between the two countries were discussed. He noted that Iran and Russia have a “strategic relationship” that goes beyond conventional cooperation and involves long-term interactions at various levels. According to Shadmani, the two countries have common interests and their cooperation is aimed at exchanging experiences and knowledge in various fields, including defense.
Shadmani also stressed that the Iranian delegation's visit to Russia was organized at the invitation of the Russian Defense Ministry, and meetings with senior representatives of the Russian armed forces are planned during the visit. In addition, the Iranian delegation will take part in discussions regarding the expansion and deepening of cooperation between the armed forces of the two countries, which includes reviewing and updating existing agreements.
Let us recall that Iran demands Su-35 from Russia, the delivery of which is constantly being postponed. New agreements will also be discussed.
IRNA recalls that the killing of Ismail Haniyeh “has caused a wave of condemnation around the world.”
Israel's actions were particularly harshly condemned in Russia, where the Kremlin and the Foreign Ministry called the killing a provocation that could lead to a further escalation of the conflict in the Middle East.In his statement, Iran's Supreme Leader also noted that “Hanieh's blood, shed on the territory of the Islamic Republic, will not go unanswered” and that Iran considers it its duty to avenge the death of the Palestinian leader.
During his visit to Moscow, General Shadmani and his delegation also plan to hold a series of meetings with senior military officials from other countries present at the exhibition to exchange views and discuss issues of mutual interest.
The ARMY 2024 exhibition, which brings together defense industry representatives from various countries, including Iran, has become a “platform for showcasing achievements and capabilities in the field of military equipment and technology.”
