Iran has said it will take a long time to respond to the killing of a Hamas leader in Tehran, suggesting it will not rush into retaliation, raising fears of a possible regional war in the Middle East.
According to Bloomberg, time is on Iran's side and the waiting period for a response could be long, as stated by the spokesman of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Ali Mohammad Naini. He added that Iran's response could be different from previous operations. Naini stressed that Israel should expect precise and calculated strikes at the right time.
The Wall Street Journal previously reported that Tehran and its allies are not ready for a full-scale conflict with Israel and the United States. Iranians remember the eight-year war with Iraq, which took many lives, and for decades Tehran has preferred to act against its opponents in the region through foreign armed groups.
