Israeli negotiators led by Mossad chief David Barnea have left for Cairo to negotiate a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, The Times of Israel reported on Thursday, citing sources. CNN also reported that the US will send a delegation to Egypt as a mediator. CIA chief William Burns will lead the behind-the-scenes talks.

Ceasefire talks due to begin in Cairo on Thursday have been postponed until next week to discuss new proposals, The National reported. The talks involve Israel, Hamas and mediators Egypt, Qatar and the US.
