Russia and Iran signed a strategic partnership agreement.

Russian President Putin agreed to sign a strategic partnership agreement with Iran on September 18, 2024, raising concerns among Western countries. The move could deepen military-technical cooperation between Moscow and Tehran, given Iran's supply of military equipment used in the war in Ukraine.

This move was made possible after Russia's invasion of Ukraine in 2022 and amid Western sanctions. Iran and Russia were able to find common interests, which led to increased interaction between them. Cooperation in military technology allowed Tehran to advance its interests and gain technological capabilities.

There are concerns that Russia could transfer technology to Iran to improve its nuclear program and missile systems. After the US withdrew from the Iran nuclear deal, the Tehran regime began to increase uranium enrichment. Experts believe that if Iran decides to produce nuclear weapons, this could happen very quickly.
