Expert David Sharp from Israel commented on the leak of information about Ukraine’s request for Tomahawk missiles. He believes that transferring such missiles to Ukraine at this time is an unrealistic scenario, given the restrictions on the use of ATACMS missiles to attack military targets inside Russia. Sharp stressed that the strategy of using Tomahawk missiles at a distance of up to 2,500 kilometers, capable of hitting targets in the Kremlin and other important objects, is not being considered.
The expert noted that leaks of classified information, including data on Tomahawk from the Ukrainian victory plan, may not be accidental. However, he stressed that this does not mean the White House lacks interest in Ukraine's victory in the war. Sharp argues that information shared with Pentagon, State Department and other government officials is often publicly available. He believes that such leaks can be organized to highlight positions and disagreements on political issues.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky confirmed the request for Tomahawk missiles, which he said was confidential and was disclosed. He believes that the lack of confidentiality between partners indicates a lack of secrets. Zelenko noted that partners should be interested in public discussion of important issues.
