US Secretary of State Antony Blinken traveled to Israel and other countries in the region to reaffirm commitment to the security of the Jewish state and discuss ways to achieve peace.
This was announced by Deputy Representative of the US State Department Vedant Patel in Washington
. During the visit, Blinken will highlight the United States' unwavering commitment to Israel's security and will address ending the war in Gaza, releasing hostages and increasing humanitarian assistance.
Planning for the post-conflict period in the Gaza Strip without the presence of Hamas will also be discussed. The US Secretary of State will also discuss ways to reach a diplomatic settlement between Israel and Hezbollah, consistent with UN Security Council Resolution 1701, which will allow citizens to return to their homes. Blinken will reaffirm the U.S. commitment to working with partners in the region to reduce tensions and promote stability.
