On October 3, 2025, Germany took a step long awaited by its allies: amid growing threats from Russia and a series of drone incidents in European skies, Berlin announced the expansion of cooperation with Ukraine and Israel in countering drones.

“We can no longer live under the illusion that war is somewhere far away. Drones know no borders, which means Europe’s defense must be collective,” the minister stated.
This program will become part of a broader EU initiative aimed at strengthening the defense of civilian infrastructure and preventing hybrid attacks.
