Iran's New President Ready for 'New Nuclear Talks with West'

Iran's leader has declared his country's “aspiration for peace, not war.” Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has confirmed openness to nuclear talks with Western countries and denied supplying ballistic missiles to Russia. “We do not seek nuclear weapons. But we will not give in to pressure,” Pezeshkian stressed.

The politician plans to speak at the UN General Assembly in New York, where he will criticize Israel for the war in Gaza and consider the possibility of negotiations with the West.

G-7 foreign ministers have called on Iran not to supply Russia with missiles and drones for its war against Ukraine, threatening “significant new measures.” Insiders say Russia may have given nuclear secrets to Iran in exchange for missiles for the war.
