On December 22, 2025, the Embassy of Israel in Ukraine, together with the Israeli international cooperation agency MASHAV, handed over a new water purification installation for a school and kindergarten in the village of Vorzel in the Kyiv region. This was reported by the ambassador of Israel to Ukraine Michael Brodsky.
The equipment provided will ensure a stable and uninterrupted supply of quality drinking water to students of educational institutions, kindergarten children, and residents of nearby houses. In wartime conditions, access to safe water remains one of the key issues for many communities, especially in settlements that have experienced shelling and infrastructure disruptions.
Support for children and the local community
Vorzel is part of the Bucha district of the Kyiv region — a region that found itself in the zone of active hostilities and serious destruction from the first months of the full-scale invasion. Even after the situation stabilized, issues of basic safety, including access to clean water, remain critically important.
The new water purification system is designed for continuous operation and allows institutions to be supplied with drinking water regardless of disruptions in centralized networks. For schools and kindergartens, this means not only improved sanitary conditions but also reduced health risks for children.

The official equipment handover event was attended by the head of the Kyiv Regional Military Administration Nikolai Kalashnik and the mayor of Bucha Anatoly Fedoruk. Their presence emphasized the significance of the project for the region and the importance of coordination between international partners and Ukrainian authorities.
Representatives of the local administration noted that such initiatives allow communities to recover faster and create more sustainable living conditions, even in a prolonged war situation.
