The history of the unit began on April 14, 2014, with the enrollment of the first volunteers in the special purpose police patrol service battalion in the building of the Dnepropetrovsk regional state administration.

On August 25, 2023, the regiment was part of the United Assault Brigade “Lyut”, the Ministry of Internal Affairs announced a recruitment of candidates for the “Dnepr-1” regiment.
