The US military has decided to deploy additional fighters and attack aircraft in the Middle East. This is due to the fact that Israel has launched a military operation against the Lebanese Hezbollah movement.

The United States of America plans to transfer two squadrons of fighters and one squadron of attack aircraft, as well as several thousand military personnel, to the Middle East. The fighters will be the F-16 Fighting Falcon and F-15E Strike Eagle, and the attack aircraft will be the A-10 Thunderbolt II.

Aviation units and US units continue to be in the Middle East to increase the number of fighters and attack aircraft in the region. The US military made this decision after Israel launched a military operation against Hezbollah and the assassination of the movement's leader Hassan Nasrallah.

The United States promised to protect Israel from possible actions by Iran, which supports Hezbollah. In April, US F-15E and F-16 fighter jets helped Israel repel a missile and drone attack, shooting down about 80 enemy drones.

In August, the United States already deployed fifth-generation F-22 fighters to the Middle East. Also in the Gulf of Oman is the US Navy nuclear-powered aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln, which is home to four fighter squadrons, including the F/A-18E/F Super Hornet and the fifth-generation F-35C Lightning II fighters.

According to the Pentagon, there are about 40,000 American troops and dozens of combat aircraft in the Middle East. Also, combat duty in the Red Sea area is provided by the USS Georgia nuclear submarine, capable of carrying up to 154 Tomahawk missiles, and two missile destroyers.

In September, it became known that the United States would send additional troops to the Middle East due to the escalation of the conflict between Israel and Hezbollah.

On October 1, the Israeli army announced the start of a ground operation in southern Lebanon. The military began raids against Hezbollah targets.
