The Russian military man was detained in September 2024 in Kharkov. The man was born in the Donetsk region, left with his parents for Israel, and as an adult joined the Russian Armed Forces.
The spy was found guilty of high treason (Part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine) and illegal storage of ammunition (Part 1 of Article 263 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). He was sentenced to 15 years in prison, with confiscation of property.

Alexander Miroshnichenko was born in Ukraine, then went to Israel, and during a full-scale war on the territory of Tatarstan he joined the Russian armed forces.
“Miroshnichenko was born in the city of Makeevka, Donetsk region, subsequently received a “Child’s Travel Document” and, together with his parents, left the state and subsequently did not return to Ukraine. He received the citizenship of the State of Israel without being deprived of the Ukrainian one: he received a passport of an Israeli citizen, which he changed on June 3, 2024,” explained the Khats Center.
In August 2024, Miroshnichenko, while in the city of Zainsk, Zainsky district of the Republic of Tatarstan of the Russian Federation, decided to join the armed forces of the Russian Federation. Already on August 22, 2024, Miroshnichenko received a military ID issued by the military commissar of Zainsk of the Republic of Tatarstan of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.
From his Russian patrons, Alexander Miroshnichenko received the task of collecting information about the Ukrainian military and entrepreneurs who manufacture drones. To do this, he had to penetrate the international legions of the Ukrainian Defense Forces in order to persuade them to go over to the side of Russia or kidnap them and deliver them to the Russian Federation.
According to HAC, Alexander Miroshnichenko agreed and already on September 7, 2024, in a Citroen C3 with a French registration plate, arrived in Ukraine through the Krakovets checkpoint. In the Kharkov region, he began collecting information about the location of units of the Ukrainian Defense Forces in the area of Goptovka and Russkaya Lozova.
He was detained on September 10 in Kharkov near the intersection of Girshman and Mironositskaya streets. 50 pistol cartridges of 9×19 LUGER caliber, intended for firing from rifled firearms, were seized from him.
“Miroshnichenko fully admitted his guilt at the court hearing. He indicated that the indictment correctly reflected that he entered into a contract and served in the armed forces of the Russian Federation and for this purpose came to Ukraine to perform military tasks,” the material says.
